In line with our wish to supply articles not to be found elsewhere, a
recent trip to Venice resulted in the purchase of a variety of ‘interesting’
stock items.

Pictures, frames and mirrors of an antique hand-made nature being
obvious choices, but perhaps the most striking and unusual item brought
back was that of a young, Early 18 th -century Venetian Nobleman in full
1730’s costume, who now stands in the showroom, at the entrance to
the office.

We’ve named him ‘Antonio’ (after Antonio Vivaldi, the famous Venetian
Baroque composer). He stands observing customers as they select
items for framing and – for the right price, is quite prepared to
accompany anyone who may elect to take him home!
We have made several good friends in Venice who I’m sure will have
other things to offer on our planned return in May 2024.
In the meantime, please feel free to call and introduce yourself to our
latest Venetian member of sales staff – who, so far, doesn’t seem to
mind involvement in ‘selfies’!
